After two (2) years, the face-to-face celebration of Pawikan Festival resumed on December 12, 2022. The celebration was kick-started by a solemn mass which was held at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Brgy. Nagbalayong. To officially open the festival with a bang, a walk for a cause and a fun and exciting Zumba dance was held at the beach front of Pawikan Conservation Center in Brgy. Nagbalayong.

Government officials of the province headed by Governor Hon. Joet S. Garcia together with Vice Governor Hon. Cris Garcia, 3rd District Representative Hon. Gila S. Garcia, 3rd District Board Members Hon. Harol Espeleta and Hon. Romano “Popoy Del Rosario graced the event. Also present during the festival were Chairperson of Bataan Peninsula Tourism Council Foundation Inc. Ms. Isabel Garcia, Ms. Victoria S. Garcia, Provincial Government Department Heads, Local Government Units, and the 1Pawikan Conservation Alliance Network (1PawiCAN) consisting of various NGOs and organizations.

The leaders of the province once again highlighted the importance of marine turtle conservation to the guests during their message. Vice Governor Hon. Cris Garcia delivered the Oath for Environmental Protection.

Announcement of winners in the T-Shirt Design Competition, Virtual Quiz Bee, Kampanya ng Kaalaman para sa Pawikan (Info Video), Kwentong Pawikan (Short story book competition), and Pawikan Festival Info Raffle revealed the joy of the crowd as they heard their town win in various contests.

The festival program was wrapped up with an Environmental Forum which was facilitated by Department of Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR). Youth and the locals of Morong engaged in the forum through the question and answer portion and won cash prizes from Governor Joet Garcia.

Let us continue to love and care for marine turtle through our own little way. Support the programs and initiatives of the government for the marine turtle conservation.
