Amidst the Pandemic, the Province of Bataan continued to celebrate Tourism Month Celebration, with the theme, "𝘽π™ͺπ™žπ™‘π™™π™žπ™£π™œ π™‹π™šπ™–π™˜π™š, π™π™€π™¨π™©π™šπ™§π™žπ™£π™œ π™†π™£π™€π™¬π™‘π™šπ™™π™œπ™š."
The activities were the Gabay - Lakbay Tourism Virtual Tour Guiding Competition and webinars on Filipino Tourism Frontliners Version 2.0: A Journey towards Recovery and Resiliency and Filipino Brand of Service Excellence. The participants in the Virtual Tour Guiding Competition held last September 18-28, 2020 were the members of the Bataan Peninsula Tour Guides. The competition winners were 1st Place: Ms. Lucille Ann Marcelo, 2nd Place: Ms. Juliet Allegra Blanas, and 3rd Place: Ms. Mary Joy Layo. Through this Competition, the tour guides were able to instill the value of learning different cultures, knowing history, and virtually exploring the peninsula. Tourism College Students from Asia Pacific College of Advanced Studies, Bataan Peninsula State University, Colegio de San Juan de Letran, Eastwoods Professional College – Dinalupihan, and Philippine Women's University participated in the webinars entitled, Filipino Tourism Frontliners Version 2.0: A Journey towards Recovery and Resiliency held last September 23-24, 2020 and Filipino Brand of Service Excellence: The New Normal held last September 29-30, 2020. The webinars were facilitated by the Department of Tourism Region III in cooperation with the Bataan Provincial Tourism Office. The speaker is a World Federation of Tourist Guide member and the President of the Philippine Association of Accredited Tourist Guide Lecturers Inc. (PAATGLI), Mr. Romano β€œManu” Del Rosario. The webinars' objectives are to understand the roles and responsibilities of a frontliner pre and post COVID, identify ways to be an agent of health promotion, prepare towards recovery, apply the learnings to achieve results, and always uphold the 7M's of Filipino Values, (Maka-May Likha, Makatao, Makakalikasan, Makbansa, Masayahin, May Bayanihan, May Pag-asa)
