PGB launches bataan agri-tourism organization
The Provincial Tourism Office, together with the Office of the Provincial Agriculture, recently established the Bataan Agri-Tourism Organization (BATO), which aims to develop and sustain farming and fishing communities in the province by providing livelihood activities to locals and by making the agri-tourism farm sites in the province the destination of choice in the Region.
Currently, the province has budding agriculture-based industries that include a coffee plantation, organic farming, and urban gardening.
The oath-taking ceremony of BATO officers was conducted on July 19, 2021, at the Bataan Tourism Center, City of Balanga. Provincial Tourism Officer Alice D. Pizarro introduced the inducting officer and guest speaker. The induction was officiated by 2nd District Board Member and Chairman of Committee on Tourism, Hon. Romano "Popoy" Del Rosario, as the official representative of Governor Albert S. Garcia.
The induction was followed by the awarding of certificates of recognition together with OIC-Provincial Agriculturist Engr. Joey Roberto Dizon. President Guillermo S. Bantugan of Gubat Farm Resort delivered his acceptance speech.
