The Department of Tourism Region 3 (DOT R3), in partnership with the Bataan Provincial Tourism Office headed by Regional Director Carolina Uy and Provincial Tourism Officer Alicia D. Pizarro, respectively, facilitated the 3-day Seminar Workshop on Tourism Awareness and Capability Building, and Filipino Brand of Service Excellence held last July 30 – August 1, 2019 at the Bataan Tourism Center.
Forty (40) participants from the public and private sector attended the seminar such as: hotels, resorts, tour guides, tour operators, as well as the tourism, planning and investment officers from Local Government Units.
Ms. Pizarro, welcomed and put emphasis on the mandate of the office and how the private and public sector should collaborate for the sustainable development of the province’s tourism industry.The seminar proper started with the discussion of Ms. Chriselle May Yambao and Mr. Erwin Tamayo of DOT R3 covering the topics of Regional Tourism Situation and DOT Progressive Accreditation System. The other resource speakers were Mr. Billy Malacura, Mr. Anthony Arbias, and Ms. Yael Fernandez. The speakers shared their knowledge and expertise to the participants about the preservation of cultural assets, environmental tourism management, and Filipino values and service excellence.The objective of the seminar workshop is to build a tourism workforce capable of providing unique Filipino brand that is a world-class service to tourists and always upholding its promise that indeed, It’s more fun in the Philippines.
