Mexican-Filipino singer songwriter Jessica Sanchez went back to her roots yesterday. The American Idol Season 11 finalist, whose grandparents originated from Bataan visited the Mt. Samat Shrine of Valor after gracing the flag ceremony of the Provincial Government of Bataan at the Bataan People's Center.
She expressed her pride and admiration when she viewed the memorabilia about the Filipinos and Americans who fought during the World War II. She was awed by the memorial cross that was a tribute to the heroism of WWII soldiers and was also impressed by the collection of old weapons, uniforms and other military artifacts and photos.
After touring the Mt. Samat and beforing leaving Bataan, she had a quick stop at the Bataan Tourism Center. Indeed, Jessica Sanchez showed that she's a true Bataeña at heart.
