DOT Mobile Accreditation

The Provincial Tourism Office of Bataan, in partnership with the Department of Tourism – Region III (DOT), conducted the DOT Mobile Accreditation on April 3 and 29, 2025, at Casa Veles in the Municipality of Mariveles and Krossroads Restobar in the Municipality of Bagac, as part of the Bisita Bayan program under the Provincial Government of Bataan. This activity aims to make government services more accessible to its constituents. The prime agenda of this caravan is to educate tourism-related businesses and stakeholders about the positive impacts of DOT accreditation on their establishments in terms of promotion and standardization.

DOT Mobile Accreditation

Tourism-related establishments from Mariveles and Bagac actively participated in the sessions. The brief overview and orientation on the guidelines and accreditation flow, in reference to the Updated Progressive Accreditation System (UPAS), were facilitated by the DOT Region III – Standards, Regulations, and Trainings Division Team, led by Ms. Avon Timbol, Chief Operating Officer, and Mr. Allen Gonzales, Supervising Tourism Operations Officer. Included in the discussion was the UPAS Self-Assessment Checklist for Mabuhay Accommodation, which outlines the process of progressive accreditation from Basic to Premium Category. This session will be held every month in each municipality in Bataan.

These activities will not only strengthen the tourism industry in Bataan, but also help promote local tourism establishments in the province and showcase what they can contribute to the vibrant tourism industry of Central Luzon.
