As the saying goes, “Behind every successful man, there is a strong, wise and hardworking woman”. Indeed, Ms. Victoria Sandejas – Garcia, fondly called as Vicky, is the exquisite and supportive woman behind what is Bataan today.
The great love of Cong. Enrique “Tet” Garcia and the mother of dynamic and visionary Governor Abet Garcia. Ms. Vicky Garcia is the Chairman of the Bataan Peninsula Tourism Council Foundation, Inc. (BPTCFI) since 2004 and she has contributed a lot in the progress of the province’s tourism industry.
Some of the major accomplishments are the construction of the Bataan Tourism Center, with the help and funding of then Governor Enrique Garcia and formerly Philippine Tourism Authority, now the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority; the formulation of “Behold Bataan “ logo through the Tourism Summit supervised by the Tourism Adviser, Mr. Rex Mendoza; and the different tour packages formed promoting the various tourist destinations in the peninsula.
In the current booming and thriving of the Bataan Tourism, Ms. Garcia foresees that more tourists and investors are coming in, more hotels and convention centers will be built and various national events could possibly be held in the province. To further develop and sustain the tourism growth and development, the BPTCFI will execute more and unique marketing efforts.
Ms. Vicky also prioritizes the ways in making Bataan an Eco-Friendly Place for tourists through the continuous creation of awareness in implementing government regulations such as No Smoking, No Bird Hunting, No Burning and Cutting down of Trees, Segregation of Wastes and Less Use of Diesel Run Vehicles, especially tricycles. To cap it off, Ms. Vicky Garcia said “this collaborative effort will prove that Bataan is a province that loves and protect its environment and giving back as an Eco-Friendly destination for everyone. “
