Local Tourism Code Formulation Workshop Strengthens Local Tourism Governance in Bataan

    August 14, 2026

The Provincial Tourism Office, in partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT) Central Office and Region III, successfully conducted the Local Tourism Code Formulation Workshop on August 13, 2026, at Kagitingan Hall III, Bataan Tourism Pavilion, City of Balanga, Bataan. The one-day capacity-building activity aimed to strengthen the knowledge and capacity of local tourism stakeholders in developing comprehensive, responsive, and sustainable Local Tourism Codes.

The workshop brought together Municipal and City Tourism Officers, Sangguniang Bayan Committee Chairpersons on Tourism, Tourist Police, and personnel from the Provincial Tourism Office for technical discussions and policy guidance. The activity highlighted the importance of establishing local tourism policies that are responsive to the unique needs and tourism potential of each local government unit, while remaining aligned with national tourism laws and policies.

The opening program featured remarks from Hon. Mylene A. Serrano, 1st District Board Member and Committee Chair on Tourism, and a message from Hon. Jose Enrique S. Garcia III, Governor of Bataan. The workshop sessions were facilitated by resource speakers Ms. Mylene D. Talana and Ms. Rona Mae S. Cadorna, who guided the participants through the key components and processes involved in formulating a Local Tourism Code.

Through this collaborative initiative, the Provincial Government of Bataan continues to strengthen local tourism governance, foster meaningful coordination among local government units and tourism partners, and develop policies that will support the sustainable growth of Bataan’s tourism industry.
Together, let us strengthen local tourism governance and continue to Behold Bataan!

    Buwan ng wikang pambansa

    August 4, 2026

All Original. All Bataan.
