    DOT X PTOUR Mobile Accreditation in Hermosa

    The Department of Tourism (DOT), in partnership with the Provincial Tourism Office of Bataan, brought the DOT x PTOUR Mobile Accreditation to the Municipality of Hermosa on August 25, 2026, at the Assembly Hall, Municipal Hall.
    The program opened with a welcome message from Ms. Danica Lolita C. Tigas, Ph.D., Acting Provincial Tourism Officer of Bataan, followed by a special message from Hon. Alexander Jason M. Enriquez, SB Committee Chairperson on Tourism of Hermosa. Ms. Avon D. Timbol, Chief of the Tourism Regulations Division of DOT Region III, delivered a special message and provided an overview of the accreditation caravan, while Mr. Allen S. Gonzales, Supervising Tourism Operations Officer of DOT Region III, discussed the accreditation process and requirements. Mr. Jesus V. De Luna, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer of Hermosa, also provided an orientation on the Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) and Certificate of Non-Coverage (CNC).


    The activity concluded with onsite assistance for the submission of documentary requirements through the accreditation portal and physical inspection of applicants. The DOT Region III Accreditation Team and the Provincial Tourism Office assisted participants throughout the process.
    The activity reflects the continued efforts of the DOT, the Provincial Tourism Office, and the Municipality of Hermosa to make tourism accreditation more accessible and help local tourism establishments meet the necessary standards.

    The Bataan Eco-Tour Guides Training commenced its second day of the seven-day training on August 25

    The Bataan Eco-Tour Guides Training commenced its second day of the seven-day training on August 25, 2026, at the 4th Floor Conference Hall, The Bunker. The second module delved into Flora and Fauna, led by DOT Resource Speaker Mr. Antonio Felipe T. Arbias, with the assistance of DOT Training Representative Mr. Erwin Joshua Salta.

    In this module, participants familiarized themselves with various native trees, wild and rare flowers, migratory birds, and insects, including proper ways to approach and promote these natural resources sustainably to help conserve biodiversity. The eco-tour guide aspirants were immersed in learning about selected interesting species of flora and fauna and were given notable pointers on how to share information with guests and appreciate what nature has to offer in the tourism and hospitality industry.

    The module will be followed by the third session, which will focus on birdwatching activities and lectures on the third day. The training will continue until August 30, 2026.

    Bataan Eco-Tour Guides Training

    The Provincial Tourism Office, in partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT), marked the first day of the Bataan Eco-Tour Guides Training on August 24, 2026, at the Bataan Tourism Pavilion, City of Balanga, Bataan. The training commenced with an opening message from Acting Provincial Tourism Officer Ms. Danica Lolita C. Tigas. A total of 34 representatives from identified community-based ecotourism organizations and Local Government Units (LGUs) attended the learning session.

    The seven-day training formally began with the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) module, facilitated by Mr. Jay Aquino, FBSE Master Trainer and Resource Speaker, with the assistance of Ms. Nikka Nulud, DOT Training Representative. The FBSE is one of the DOT’s flagship programs that focuses on enhancing the character and capabilities of tourism workers by instilling the values of excellent Filipino service in the tourism and hospitality industry. The introductory module sets the foundation for the participants as they prepare to become competent and service-oriented eco-tour guides in Bataan.

    Bataan Peninsula Tourism Council Foundation, Inc. Inducts new officers in Oath-Taking Ceremony

    The Bataan Peninsula Tourism Council Foundation, Inc. formally inducted its new set of officers during an Oath-Taking Ceremony led by Governor Jose Enrique S. Garcia III on August 25, 2026, at the Bataan Tourism Center in the City of Balanga. The ceremony was held as part of the council’s meeting, marking a renewed commitment to strengthen collaboration among tourism stakeholders and support the province’s tourism development.

    The newly inducted officers are Chairperson Ma. Isabel F. Garcia, Vice Chairperson Atty. Marife Andal-Concepcion, Secretary Grace R. David, Treasurer Lilia Raymundo, Auditor Arlene Acuzar, and Overall PRO Michelle Santos. Serving as District PROs are Bea Jeanelle Lim of Hermosa for the 1st District, Norlie Castro of the City of Balanga for the 2nd District, and Hector C. Lintag of Dinalupihan for the 3rd District, with Victoria S. Garcia as Adviser.

    With the new officers in place, the council will work alongside the Provincial Tourism Office and other tourism stakeholders in advancing tourism programs, promoting Bataan’s destinations, culture, heritage, local products, and experiences, and supporting major provincial events that can attract visitors and generate opportunities for local communities and tourism establishments.
    Through stronger partnerships and active participation in tourism initiatives and events, the council aims to help further promote Bataan as a vibrant and competitive tourism destination.
