Day 2 of the 3-Day Festival Production Management Workshop

On September 16, 2026, Day 2 of the 3-Day Festival Production Management Workshop brought together local artists, tourism officers, and tourism stakeholders for another day of learning, sharing, and exchanging ideas. With resource speakers Mr. Leonilo C. Agustin, Mr. Matthew T. Manalaysay, and Mr. Jose Christe Nombres, participants explored the different elements that come together to create a festival—from the ideas behind it to the experiences we want visitors and communities to take home.

Day 2 took a closer look at what happens behind the scenes. Participants learned about Technical Production Management, covering important elements such as set design, lighting, audio, video, LED screens, trussing and rigging, special effects, props, costumes, and the production crew.
The discussions also went into Backstage and Stage Management Systems, where participants gained insights on prompt books, cue sheets, call times, backstage protocols, green rooms, technical riders, scene changes, and handling unexpected production challenges.

And of course, learning doesn’t stop with lectures. Through the Production Crisis Exercise, participants were given the opportunity to put their learning into practice and work through situations that can happen during an actual festival. Because a successful festival is not only about what the audience sees. A lot of the magic happens behind the curtain—with people making sure every detail, cue, performance, and moment comes together.
Day 2 done. One more day to go!
