DOT X PTOUR Mobile Accreditation in Abucay

The Provincial Tourism Office, together with the Department of Tourism (DOT), concluded the DOT Mobile Accreditation for Tourism-Related Establishments (TREs) on July 22, 2026, in the Municipality of Abucay. The activity is an initiative under the Bisita Bayan Program of the Provincial Government of Bataan to make public services more accessible to the constituents of the province.

The DOT Mobile Accreditation provided an avenue to create an accessible channel between the Regional, Provincial, and Municipal Governments and tourism stakeholders to encourage registered tourism establishments to apply for DOT accreditation. The session officially commenced with a warm opening message from Acting Provincial Tourism Officer Dr. Danica Lolita C. Tigas, who welcomed the participants. In support of the Municipal Tourism Office, Mr. Genel Llanes, 12 interested TREs joined the orientation to better understand the DOT accreditation process and its benefits to local tourism businesses. The discussion on the overview and accreditation process was facilitated by Mr. Erwin Tamayo and Ms. Heide Sulangi, with assistance from Ms. Remsel Delmo of DOT Region III.

Various queries regarding the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau (DENR–EMB) compliance, which is one of the requirements for DOT accreditation, were raised during the discussion. Mr. LLord Vien Baltazar, Acting MENRO of LGU Abucay, was present to assist in addressing the concerns of the constituents. Mr. Dexter Pol Llanda, Municipal Administrator of Abucay, also expressed his support for the activity. The on-site validation of the establishments’ documents was also conducted as the final part of the program.
