SM Supermalls and Go Negosyo Strengthen Partnership to Build More Livelihood Opportunities for Filipinos
Building stronger communities through jobs and entrepreneurship

A stronger nation begins with empowered communities—and empowered communities begin with opportunities. Recognizing that meaningful employment and entrepreneurship are equally important drivers of economic growth, SM Supermalls and Go Negosyo continue to strengthen their partnership through Trabaho at Negosyo, an initiative that brings together job opportunities, business mentoring, entrepreneurship learning, and government services in one accessible venue. Held on June 27 at SM City Bataan, the event gathered around 400 aspiring entrepreneurs, business owners, and job seekers, providing them with opportunities to learn from industry experts, connect with employers and mentors, and explore practical pathways toward sustainable livelihoods. More than a one-day event, Trabaho at Negosyo reflects a shared commitment to creating inclusive opportunities that enable Filipinos not only to find employment but also to build businesses that generate jobs and contribute to their local communities.

By combining Go Negosyo’s expertise in entrepreneurship with SM Supermalls’ commitment to creating opportunities where Filipinos can learn, earn, and grow, alongside the support of government and private sector partners, Trabaho at Negosyo fosters an ecosystem that equips aspiring entrepreneurs and job seekers with the knowledge, mentorship, networks, and opportunities to succeed. The initiative recognizes that employment and entrepreneurship are complementary drivers of inclusive growth. Every job created, every business launched, and every entrepreneur empowered contributes to stronger communities and a more resilient Philippine economy.
The initiative reflects the shared belief that entrepreneurship and employment are complementary drivers of inclusive economic growth. Today’s job seeker can become tomorrow’s entrepreneur, while today’s small business can become tomorrow’s employer—creating a ripple effect that strengthens families, stimulates local economies, and contributes to nation-building.

“When we empower entrepreneurs, we create opportunities not only for individual success but for entire communities. Every thriving MSME has the potential to generate jobs, inspire innovation, and help build a stronger Philippine economy. Partnerships like Trabaho at Negosyo enable us to bring mentorship, learning, and opportunities closer to more Filipinos,” said Jose Maria ‘Joey’ Concepcion III, Founder of Go Negosyo.
Echoing this shared commitment, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) continues to champion initiatives that make entrepreneurship more accessible and sustainable. “MSMEs remain the backbone of the Philippine economy. Through strong public-private partnerships, we can provide entrepreneurs with greater access to opportunities, knowledge, and markets that will help them grow, become more competitive, and create more jobs for Filipinos,” said DTI Secretary Cristina A. Roque.

For SM Supermalls, the partnership reflects its broader mission of creating opportunities that help communities thrive. “SM Supermalls has always believed that our malls can be more than places to shop—they can be platforms where opportunities are created and communities are strengthened. Through our partnership with Go Negosyo and our government partners, we continue to open doors for Filipinos to learn new skills, find meaningful employment, start businesses, and achieve sustainable growth,” said Joaquin L. San Agustin, Executive Vice President for Marketing, SM Supermalls.
As SM Supermalls and Go Negosyo continue to work together, the partnership serves as a testament to what collaboration can achieve—bringing opportunities closer to Filipinos, empowering entrepreneurs to succeed, creating more jobs, and helping build stronger, more resilient communities. Because when people are given opportunities to learn, earn, and grow, communities flourish. And when communities flourish, the nation moves forward.
