    In a momentous step towards environmental conservation and community development, the Orani Mangrove Adoption and Protection project was officially launched on September 12, 2023, at Tubo-tubo, Brgy. Kabalutan, Orani. The initiative, part of the broader Mangrove Rehabilitation Program under Project Transform, marked a significant milestone in the preservation of Bataan’s coastal ecosystems.

    The Orani Mangrove Adoption and Protection project, spearheaded by GNPower Mariveles Energy Center Ltd. Co., local authorities, and community partners, had set its sights on safeguarding the fragile mangrove ecosystem of Orani. Moreover, the project aims to empower local communities by providing opportunities for improved socioeconomic conditions through alternative livelihood projects.


    The event was graced by the presence of notable figures, including Ms. Azucena E. Sugatain, OIC – Provincial Tourism Officer of Bataan, Mr. Raphael C. De Leon, OIC – Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Officer (PGENRO), Mr. Raul H. Mamac, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer, Atty. Antonio B. Roman, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member, and more.     The delegation was led by Mayor Wei Dong.
    During the discussions with them, Gov. Joet Garcia highlighted investment opportunities in Bataan and showcased the beautiful destinations that our province has to offer to visitors.

    The visit underscores the strengthening of ties and cooperation between Bataan and Zhangzhou, China. Furthermore, it provides an avenue for the growth and development of the provinceโ€™s economy.

    The local government of Bataan extends its gratitude to its visitors from Zhangzhou, China, and hopes for more opportunities of this nature in the future.

    Sets the Stage for Exciting Events

    The Bataan Peninsula Tourism Council Foundation Inc., (BPTCFI) under the leadership of Ms. Isabel Garcia, Chairperson, and Ms. Vicky Garcia, Adviser, held a productive meeting on September 26, 2023. The meeting agenda centered around key events on the horizon: the Pawikan Festival 2023, Miss Bataan next year, and the opening of โ€œAklatang Pangkasaysayan ng Bataanโ€.

    Top on the agenda was the eagerly anticipated Pawikan Festival 2023. This annual event promises to be a celebration of culture, heritage, and marine life, drawing visitors from near and far.

    Looking ahead to the following year, plans for the Miss Bataan pageant were also unveiled. This prestigious competition showcases the grace, talent, and intelligence of Bataan’s young women.

    In addition to these exciting events, the meeting also marked the official opening of the “Aklatang Pangkasaysayan ng Bataan,” a historical mini-library. Located within the Bataan Tourism Center on Roman Highway, City of Balanga, this charming bookcase is stocked with volumes that delve into the rich history of Bataan and its role in World War II.

    The BPTCFI invites everyone to explore this treasure trove of knowledge, offering a deeper understanding of the province’s heritage. As these initiatives unfold, Bataan continues to be a hub for culture, history, and tourism, welcoming all to its captivating stories and experiences.
