    Behind every release is a story of carefrom night patrols and rescuing eggs, to keeping them safe in the hatchery for nearly two months before they make their way back to the wild. At the Pawikan Conservation Center, learn more about the pawikan’s journey, discover the marine life found along Bataan’s coast, and see how the community continues to protect them.     DAYAW 2026 | Ipagdiwang ang Buwan ng Mga Katutubo!

    Ngayong Oktubre, ating ipinagdiriwang ang pagkamalikhain, mga kaalaman, at pagiging matatag ng mga katutubong komunidad sa bansa bilang bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng mga Katutubo, alinsunod sa Proklamasyon Blg. 1906 na nilagdaan noong 2009.

    Higit dalawandaang mga katutubo, cultural bearers, artists, mga guro at akademiko, kabataan, at kinatawan ng mga komunidad mula sa 41 clusters ang magsasama-sama sa Dayaw 2026 na gaganapin mula ika-13 hanggang ika-15 ng Oktubre, sa Foro de Intramuros Manila.

    Sa temang “Pagkamalikhain ng Katutubong Filipino: Pinagtibay ng mga Pagsubok, Umaalab ang Bagong Pag-Asa” (Creativity of Indigenous Filipinos: Strengthened by Challenges, Igniting New Hope), layunin ng Dayaw na ipakita kung paanong patuloy na humuhugot ng lakas ang mga pamayanang kultural sa kanilang mga tradisyon, kaalaman, at malikhaing gawain sa kabila ng mga hamong panlipunan, pang-ekonomiko, politikal, at pangkapaligiran.

    Tampok sa pagdiriwang ang mga programa para sa pagpapalitan ng kultura at kaalaman, kabilang ang:

    🌿 IP Forums na nakatuon sa edukasyon, kalusugan, at kalikasan

    🧶 Demo ng sayaw, paghahabi, at iba pang katutubong likhang-kamay

    Higit pa sa isang pagdiriwang, ang Dayaw ay espasyo upang marinig ang boses ng mga katutubo – isang espasyo para dinggin ang kanilang hinaing, ipakilala ang kanilang mga realidad, ipalaganap ang mga kuwento ng pag-asa sa gitna ng hamon ng makabagong panahon.

    Bilang pagkilala sa mga katutubong komunidad, patuloy tayong gumawa ng mga espasyong nagpapayabong sa mga pamanang kultural at kung saan maaaring umalab ang bagong pag-asa.

    The four-day Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support Training concluded on October 1, 2026

    The four-day Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support Training concluded on October 1, 2026, at the Bataan Tourism Pavilion, Balanga City, Bataan. On its final day, participants took part in Simulation Exercises and Return Demonstrations, allowing them to apply the knowledge and techniques gained throughout the training in simulated emergency scenarios.

    Through these hands-on activities, participants demonstrated their understanding of proper first aid and basic life support procedures while strengthening their confidence and readiness to respond when immediate assistance is needed. The training ended with one important takeaway: being prepared means being ready to act when it matters most.

    Day 3 | 3-Day Housekeeping Services Training Program

    The 3-Day Housekeeping Services Training Program officially concluded on September 30, 2026 at the Bataan Tourism Pavilion, City of Balanga, marking three days of learning, skills development, and professional growth for the participants.

    On its final day, participants began with a review of the key lessons from Day 2 before moving on to Guest Relations and Service Recovery. The session focused on responding to guest needs and expectations, handling inquiries and complaints, and managing challenging situations with professionalism.

    The participants also tackled Integrated Housekeeping Operations, focusing on the standard sequence of guest room servicing, maintaining quality standards, and the importance of teamwork and productivity in daily housekeeping operations.

    In the afternoon, the participants put their knowledge into practice through the Housekeeping Practical Competency Assessment. The assessment covered guest room cleaning, bed making and towel folding, as well as room inspection and quality evaluation, skills that are essential in maintaining the standards of accommodations and tourism establishments.

    The final session focused on Action Planning and Closing Activities, allowing participants to reflect on their learning, identify areas for improvement, and prepare to apply the skills they gained in their respective establishments.

    After three days of intensive discussions, demonstrations, and practical activities, a total of 39 participants successfully graduated from the training program.

    As Bataan continues to welcome visitors to its hotels, resorts, and other tourism establishments, having skilled and service-oriented housekeeping personnel is an important part of creating a positive guest experience. From maintaining clean and comfortable rooms to ensuring that guests feel safe and well cared for, the graduates can bring their newly strengthened skills directly into their workplaces and contribute to better-quality tourism services in the province.

    Congratulations to all 39 graduates! May the knowledge and skills you gained from this training continue to guide you in delivering quality housekeeping services and warm Filipino hospitality to every guest who visits Bataan.

    The Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support Training continued on September 30, 2026

    Moving into its third day, the Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support Training continued on September 30, 2026, at the Pavilion Tourism, Balanga City, Bataan, with tourism establishments and tour guides taking part in another full day of first-aid learning and practice.

    The session covered a range of medical and environmental emergencies, including breathing emergencies and heart attacks, abdominal and diabetic emergencies, allergies, animal bites and stings, poisoning, and heat-related problems. Participants also tackled trauma injuries, with discussions and demonstrations on wounds, burns, musculoskeletal injuries, bandaging, and splinting.

    Putting the lessons into practice, participants also took part in hands-on activities and return demonstrations, giving them the opportunity to apply the proper first-aid techniques in different situations.

    With a wider range of emergency scenarios covered, today’s session gave participants another opportunity to build practical skills that can be useful when immediate assistance is needed—whether during a tour, at a tourism establishment, or in the community.
