In a momentous step towards environmental conservation and community development, the Orani Mangrove Adoption and Protection project was officially launched on September 12, 2023, at Tubo-tubo, Brgy. Kabalutan, Orani. The initiative, part of the broader Mangrove Rehabilitation Program under Project Transform, marked a significant milestone in the preservation of Bataan’s coastal ecosystems.
The Orani Mangrove Adoption and Protection project, spearheaded by GNPower Mariveles Energy Center Ltd. Co., local authorities, and community partners, had set its sights on safeguarding the fragile mangrove ecosystem of Orani. Moreover, the project aims to empower local communities by providing opportunities for improved socioeconomic conditions through alternative livelihood projects.
The event was graced by the presence of notable figures, including Ms. Azucena E. Sugatain, OIC – Provincial Tourism Officer of Bataan, Mr. Raphael C. De Leon, OIC – Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Officer (PGENRO), Mr. Raul H. Mamac, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer, Atty. Antonio B. Roman, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member, and more.
